Kambaku Safari Lodge is well situated in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which makes up the western boarder of the Kruger National Park. Without fences inhibiting the free movement of game between the reserves, Timbavati becomes part of a vast unspoilt natural wilderness area that lies within the Greater Kruger National Park.
Kambaku (Solitary Bull elephant), takes its name from one of the "Magnificent Seven" tuskers who roamed the Kruger Park for the greater part of the last century. These elephant were renowned for their impressive tusks – having at least one tusk with the estimated weight of over 60 kg.
At the lodge lodge the legends linger and are remembered by the naming of each chalet after one of these Magnificent giants of the bush.
The eight thatched chalets at Kambaku accommodate just sixteen guests and comprise a variety of options ranging from the honeymoon suite, family suites to double and twin rooms, depending on specific requirements. This flexibility makes the lodge ideal for hosting small family gatherings, intimate wedding parties, and exclusive business events. The honeymoon suite is soon to ensure additional privacy and a touch of something a little out of the ordinary.
The accommodation is exclusive, yet affordable – designed to reflect the cool calmness in the heat of the African bush, four- poster beds with classic draped mosquito nets grace every room. With the carbon footprint in mind, the chalets are equipped with lanterns for the evenings, and although electricity is at a minimum, there are 220 volt power points which are sustained by eco-friendly solar charged battery system. Overhead fans provide a welcome relief in summer and gas/solar ensure steamy hot showers in the cool of winter.
Each chalet also has its own veranda where guests can relax in comfort and view the local animals drinking at the waterhole.
The chalets, main lodge buildings and the deck area, all overlook a private waterhole where constant wildlife activity can be observed and enjoyed either from the privacy of your chalet or from the main lodge area.
These chalets have king-size beds and inter-leading rooms with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms with a bath, shower and amenities. All chalets are equipped with overhead fans, private patios, mosquito- nets and spray, filtered water and electronic safe.
