Camp George is situated within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, this select camp offers families, friends and small business groups a truly private wildlife experience.
Camp George can accommodate 10 guests. The 2 main bedrooms feature a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet. The additional 2 bedrooms feature 2 single beds and guests have access to a shared a bathroom. All rooms are serviced daily and feature air-conditioning, overhead fans and fly screens.
The main building features a well-equipped kitchen, scullery and pantry. Guests have access to an open-plan informal dining room and TV lounge area a TV with DStv, Wi-Fi, and an outdoor terrace with a gas braai and a guest bathroom.
The lapa lounge features an open-plan dining room and bar area equipped with a fridge, an ice machine, a TV with DStv access, and an indoor fireplace, and braai area. All wood is supplied and the unit includes a camp guard who will light the fires in the evening. Guests have access to pool and garden with loungers overlooking a watering hole.
There is a low-lying electric fence around the entire camp.
The camp is located a 5.5 hours drive from Johannesburg. Transport from Hoedspruit to the camp can be arranged at an additional fee.

The camp has been newly refurbished and each round chalet is now en-suite, tastefully furnished and air conditioned. The view from the camp over the bush is breathtaking and many hours can be spent in the delightful rim flow pool or decked area that overlooks the bush below, watching elephant splash in the Klaserie River or a herd of buffalo moving towards sweet grasslands. A central thatched area has a graceful hallway leading into a comfortable lounge with a TV and an elegant dining table and chairs. However the meals are generally taken under the stars around the fire with night sounds filling the elevated hill-top camp area or at the pool deck perched over the darkening bushveld. Each rondawel is free standing in the well established garden and named after a local artist who is responsible for the art work of the room. The rooms are not large but airy, light and somehow enjoyably traditional.
The cliff edge at the view point however is left as natural bush and at certain times a riot of colourful aloe flowers. The thatched deck at the pool is well positioned, inviting delicious breezes into the cool afternoon shade – for a peaceful siesta. Nevertheless sections of the deck are always sunny for bathers to soak up the rays. There is a cooking area at the pool deck complete with preparation bowls, plenty of working space and its own funky set of enamel crockery.
The vast concession is home to a wide meandering ox-bow of the verdant Klaserie River and legendary in its game sightings. At certain times it seems all the elephants of the area descend upon the river with their trumpeting and family domestics making entertaining viewing from the safety of the cliff top camp. The river is an attraction for solitary and secretive leopard, their nocturnal hunting documented by the alarm calls of shy bushbuck. Sure-footed klipspringer scamper up the rocky river banks and large herds of buffalo flatten the grassy plains with their sheer numbers. All in all this is a truly captivating section of the Greater Kruger Park and a sure find for a group of like minded safari goers.

Angela’s Safari Camp is a thatched, self-catering camp which provides absolute comfort while retaining the charm and ambiance of a bygone safari era.
All chalets are air-conditioned and have overhead fans, fly screens and en-suite bathrooms consisting of shower, basin vanity, and toilet. Bedroom chalets are named after internationally known local artists and photographers. Each chalet features the named individual’s work along with a brief personal profile. There are 5 chalets: 2 with queen-size beds and 3 with 2 single beds each. Rooms are serviced daily.
An entrance breezeway leads into an air-conditioned lounge with a TV and DStv access and a large open-plan dining room area that opens out through large foldaway doors to a veranda that is equipped with a bar and a bar fridge. All overlook a well established lawn and garden with an open ‘lapa braai’ area. The kitchen, pantry, scullery and laundry are well equipped with all crockery, cutlery, a 6 plate gas stove, microwave, steamer, fridge-freezer, additional fridge and chest freezer, and an ice machine.
At the ‘Look-Out’ built overlooking the river you will find a thatch covered deck, a fully equipped braai area and an infinity flow pool. Pool loungers, classic Morris chairs, wooden dining table and chairs, large umbrella and a drinks fridge add the finishing touches to this venue. Daily cleaning services are provided by 2 Chars and a Camp Guard. Wood for fires is supplied as well as the laying and cleaning of the braai fire.
The camp is located within a 5.5 hour drive from Johannesburg. SA Express has 2 daily flights from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit where guests can arrange for a transfer to the camp.
The Amani Safari Camp is a fully inclusive luxury game lodge located on 3000-hectares within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve which is part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The camp is easily accessible and is just a 1-hour drive from Hoedspruit and the Eastgate Airport.
Amani boasts a lantern lit “welcome-bridge” akin to Hollywood’s red carpet. It’s bar and entertainment area lie only metres away from a high-traffic watering hole, adjacent to the river bank.
The camp provides accommodation for 8 guests and the layout is unique, comprising 1 house with a central living area and 4 en-suite bedrooms. The beds can be made up as 1 super king-size bed per room, or 2 three-quarter beds, and the spacious bathrooms feature opulent showers. Each bedroom has its own private entrance and large windows provide access to remarkable views of the reserve. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan and an air-conditioner.
The thatched house is double volume and boasts a spacious open-plan kitchen, a TV lounge with DStv, and a dining area. The entertainment area consists of a sizeable deck, a large infinity pool, an open-air bar and a dining area. A boma provides ambience and a lovely outdoor braai area.
Wi-Fi is free. 2 guided game drives are offered daily in Big 5 territory as we are part of the greater Kruger National Park.
Africa on Foot is located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, set in the heart of the Greater Kruger. The Klaserie shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park which means predators and other wildlife roam freely throughout.
Africa on Foot Camp has 5 chalets ensuring an intimate and personal safari experience. All chalets are of the same standard with en-suite bathrooms, mosquito nets, a clothing rack, bedside tables, solar powered lamps, and bathroom toiletries. Two of the chalets are family units, which have 2 adjoining bedrooms and room for 4 people in double and twin beds.
The electricity at Africa on Foot is solar-powered to keep things natural and eco-friendly and water is heated by gas.
Guests can relax at the splash pool and enjoy a traditional South African braai around the campfire area in the boma. On a walking safari guests will be led by experienced and professional game rangers through a wildlife area rich in game including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo as well as hyena, hippo, giraffe, zebra and a whole host of other wildlife. In addition to walking safaris, Big-5 game- and night drives are offered allowing guests to participate in a full spectrum of safari activities.
Africa on Foot is about an hour’s drive from the town of Hoedspruit. Eastgate airport is the local airport for the camps in the Klaserie, which is about a 40-minute drive from camp.
